Don't mondo, do something

Spleen has invented a new word to describe what he sees as the apathetic response of too many GPs to the current crisis in the profession.

Please all start using a word I have adopted. The definition is severe or extreme and the word is MONDO. It is to mean moaning but doing nothing as in "don't give me any more mondo about work...do something".

To people who complain "all this talk is doing nothing", I totally agree, we have been doing MONDO since we were third year students, we have got to DO something about this.

I am sorry to say, however, that almost every time I try and get a few people motivated, I get the eyes raised, here we go again, I'm too busy response.

In five years, they will have forgotten all this and I won't even get to say I told you so!

There are forty odd thousand GPs in the UK. Half of them voted for this hours deal and about six have commented on my blog. In all honesty, I've seen more action in a family of sloths on a go slow!!
