Dr Asim Kumar Sen

From Dr Krishna Chaturvedi, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex

Everyone is naturally shocked with the sudden demise, at 60, of Rochford GP Dr Asim Kumar Sen. Everyone has been very kind and helpful, including his patients. He was popular with patients and the medical fraternity.

He was a singlehanded practitioner who had a passion for music. He raised a lot of money for charities such as the Heart Foundation and local hospital charities.

Among my memories is the letter he wrote to Tony Blair via a medical magazine inviting him to visit his practice, of which he was so proud and which ran without any complaints for 25 years.

He was nominated as Doctor of the Year by one of his patients in a London tabloid, which was full of praise and gratifying remarks, which he fully deserved. He leaves a wife, Dr Gurmeet Sen, and two daughters, Nicky and Ami.
