Fed-up GP develops his own software

Dr Tony Greig became so frustrated at 'hunting through different cupboards' for clinical governance information he developed his own computer software to keep it one place.

He said the system, which took him over two years to develop, had saved the Wiltshire practice time and stress fulfilling requests from the local PCT.

'The software ties all the strands of clinical governance into one place, instead of having to hunt for pieces of paper floating about different cupboards,' said Dr Greig, a GP in Ludgershall.

The program covers practice population health needs, staff profiles and structure, GP and staff development, clinical and administrative procedures and patient views.
