Find the funding for CBT training

From Olivia Neely

Nurse co-ordinator

Coventry

I am a nurse co-ordinator about to start a diploma in cognitive behaviour therapy which runs until July 2007.

The GPs have given me day release to attend.

I have just paid from my savings the first fees of £1,050 with £3,500 more due in October 2006.

Coventry PCT has said it would like to help but cannot give a positive answer or an idea how much until April. I work full-time for the NHS and have spent many hours seeking help with funding.

This cannot be right. A much-needed course and patients waiting yet I have to pay for my own training.
