At the heart of general practice since 1960

Follow Robin Cook's example and make your dignified exit

The new contract has been such a disaster that our negotiators have no choice they should follow Robin Cook's example and hand in their dignified resignations. Don't use excuses that this was a contract you never commended, but tried your utmost to stage manage and sell very arrogantly.

I for one have resigned from the BMA. I sincerely hope my GP colleagues up and down the country will do the same and democratically 'vote' you out before your fantasies of OBEs and knighthoods get the better of you. In future we should demand professional well-paid negotiators to do a proper job, not these part-time amateurs!

An e-mail complaint to the BMA resulted in an automated reply, clearly indicating that my weighted list being 800 lower was to be expected as there would be some losers! So much for the hot air that 'everyone's a winner'.
