Government offered pill to cure NHS

Dr Alan Thompson of Grampian LMC kicked off a debate on general practice with a prescription to counter health secretary Patricia Hewitt's anti-GP spin.

'I have got a tablet here for the Government – replacement therapy if you like – some quality. I want them to wash it down with a big dose of general practice and the UK health system will be better in the morning,' he said.
