GP defends co-op against council leader

Dr Jonathan France has fiercely defended his local co-op against criticism from a council leader.

Richmondshire district council leader John Blackie had cited cases involving patients of the practice to show care had worsened since North Yorkshire Emergency Doctors took on a contract for out-of-hours care on April 1. Dr France said his practice in Hawes investigated each incident and there was nothing it would have done differently. 'The co-op do an excellent job and this criticism really has no foundation.'
