GPC aims to abandon census data

The GPC wants to abandon census data in the Carr-Hill formula in favour of registered practice population data as soon as practices can clean their lists.

Dr Hamish Meldrum, joint-deputy chair of the GPC, told the Leicester contract roadshow it was a GPC objective to use clean registered-practice population data as soon as possible.

He told Pulse: 'We don't want to move immediately because in certain areas lists are not clean.'

GPC chair Dr John Chisholm said the Government had agreed in principle.
