GPC defends partnership guidance

The GPC has defended its decision not to produce a model partnership agreement, arguing a 'one size fits all' document would have been 'inappropriate'.

It also described as 'nonsense' reports that the guidance would not be detailed enough.

The LMCs conference had directed the GPC to produce a model agreement. But the GPC said lawyers had advised it to indicate areas of agreements that will need to be amended as there were so many variations that one model would not be feasible.

The guidance will run to 25 to 30 pages of detailed advice, said a BMA spokeswoman.
