GPs cannot just go on coping forever

Dr Ellen Grant (Letters, February 19) quotes three studies relating HRT to an increased risk of breast cancer. In her final paragraph she states 'menopausal symptoms and depression can respond safely to low-allergy diets and repletion of nutrient deficiencies'.

Where is her evidence to back this comment? I would be very interested to know of any trial work to confirm this, as I would be delighted to treat my patients with diets and supplements rather than potentially harmful hormones.

I await Dr Grant's response with curiosity.
