GPs face snap visits by fraudbusters to trawl patient notes

Dr Dirk de Cocq believes the £30 an hour he is paid for some out-of-hours shifts must be the lowest in the UK.

Newham GP co-op in east London pays the rate on weekdays from 7-11pm and on weekends between 8-11pm. Dr de Cocq (above), who sits on the co-op board, said he had made repeated efforts to get the rates increased. 'It's a total rip-off ­ it's scandalous,' he said.
