GPs offer excellent value for money

I could scarcely believe what I read in Pulse today (News, November 25). Dr Hamish Meldrum and other GPC negotiators have been warned that GPs could be seen as money-grabbers if a substantial pay rise is offered.

I think the public have had excellent value for money out of me and still benefit from my having the mettle to stay in what is becoming the most thankless job imaginable.

It makes me despair to think that our negotiators would not value what GPs have given back to NHS in the course of their training.
