GPs told: beware life on the edge

An LMC has warned GPs that local PCT staff are having 'sleepless nights' over the

dangers posed to patients by laminated cards.

Nottinghamshire LMC said Nottingham City PCT had warned all practices to set up a 'risk assessment policy' to cater for the possibility of

patients cutting themselves on the sharp edges of health promotion cards.

The LMC said a recent missive said GPs needed to deal with 'the very real threat of patients injuring themselves on the sharp edges of laminated cards'.

Chris Locke, LMC chief ex- ecutive, said: 'It is a dangerous world we live in, to be sure.'
