GPs told to ignore requests for data

The Committee on Safety of Medicines is set to be replaced by a new drug watchdog purged of drug company links.

Under plans outlined in a new consultation document, members will have to declare all interests, including those of their families and academic departments.

Health minister Lord Warner also announced the Government would step up pressure to force drug firms to publish all trial data.
