GPs urged to check fire precautions

GPs have been advised to be extra vigilant about fire prevention during the firefighters' strikes. With Green Goddess fire engines struggling to provide cover, GPs have been urged to keep the chance of fire as low as possible. Dr Gerard Panting, communications and policy director at the Medical Protection Society, said: 'Staff should check extinguishers work, fire exits are not blocked and people know what to do in a fire.'
