GPs warned over preferred provider status

Dr Peter Wilczynski has warned that PCTs are rejecting GPs' preferred provider status before they have even had a chance to bid to provide enhanced services.

Dr Wilczynski, a GP in Corby, Northamptonshire, said it echoed the fiasco when GPs had to bid for money via section 36 local development schemes: 'We are already being told "the hospital does this and a community service already does that", so my money is once again disappearing into secondary care.'
