GPs would need to pass medical for revalidation

Dr Philip Pritchard fulfilled a 20-year dream ­ and surprised the bookies ­ by training a 50-1 outsider to victory at Cheltenham last week. Dr Pritchard, who combines practising as a GP in Wickwar, Gloucestershire, with being a trainer and jockey, said getting a winner at the home of national hunt racing was the pinnacle of his other career. He said: 'It's like a third division side winning the FA Cup. I'm simply ecstatic.'
