At the heart of general practice since 1960

Greed that will break the profession

This is ludicrous ('GPs to get £200k to offer partnerships'). Where is the extra money coming from?

This scheme will make very little difference to the thousands of disenfranchised GPs throughout the country, while wasting precious resources at a time of financial hardship. By rewarding practices for taking on partners, our leaders are sending entirely the wrong message and missing the point.

The profession has to be one because we are all equally qualified to practise and should receive the same pay and conditions for the same work. Anything less than that smacks of greed and selfishness and will eventually break the profession.

From Dr Suresh Kumar, Hythe, Kent
