I’ll arrive at the branch surgery of my practice at 8am for a 9am start.
The first hour will be spent going through hospital letters, discharge summaries, pathology results and tasks and requests from our admin team.
I’m already tired, as I was working until 8pm last night doing an extended hours surgery. This morning there’s the prospect of 16 patients (four pre-booked appointments, four released yesterday and eight for callers this morning). Plus there will likely be extras as the branch surgery is closed in the afternoon.
From 9am the patients will attend at 10- minute intervals, until the last appointment at 11.30am. I’ll be surprised if I’m still running on time by then though.
