NHS choir chasing Justin Bieber for Christmas number one

A choir made up of NHS staff could top the Christmas chart this year, running just 7,000 behind Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

With three more days to go until the Christmas number one single is crowned, and with the NHS Choir set to make high-profile appearances on Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 show and ITV1’s This Morning this week, the Official Charts site says ‘it’s still all to play for’.

The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir launched its charity single Bridge Over You to raise money for health charities including Carers UK and Mind.

Combining Coldplay’s ballad Fix You with Simon and Garfunkel classic Bridge Over Troubled Water, the choir said the single is ‘an emotional celebration of the thousands of NHS staff who go the extra mile every day’.

Fans who wish to support charity and help NHS staff reach the Christmas number one slot can buy the single via this link for 99p.
