NHS England has advised area teams to pay GPs £60 per home visit and £16 per routine appointment to care for out of area-registered patients.

  • As far as I can tell there is a big flaw in this system. Some patients who choose to register away from their home may find that there is no practice near their home willing to visit them should they become unwell at home.

    Luckily for GPs I can find nothing in the document that compels their local GP to visit them.
