Hospice inspires cycle trip

A GP has been inspired by his work with terminally ill patients to cycle through the French Alps to raise money.

Dr Greg Folwell, a GP in Eastbourne, East Sussex, who works part-time in St Wilfrid's Hospice, is part of the 50-strong Fireflies cycling team setting off this week on a gruelling 1,000km eight-day ride from Geneva to Cannes, raising money for Hammersmith Hospital's leukaemia charity, Leuka.'I've been involved with treating people with malignant diseases and leukaemia in my practice and have been working at the hospice for 10 years and when I read an article written by the team doctor about this ride I thought I'd give it a go,' he said.Dr Folwell is hoping to raise £2,000 through his efforts.
