How GP locums set rates

Most locums are not 'asking for almost double the suggested BMA rate' (News, December 9) ­ the BMA has not published a suggested rate for locums since April 1999. Most locums have taken that rate as a starting point and increased it by inflation or by the amount recommended by the Review Body in April of each successive year.
