How we doubled our QOF points

The Torridon Medical Practice has had a remarkable year, almost doubling its QOF points from 532 to 1,016.

Dr Caroline Brown (left) and Dr Helen Stewart took over the practice in the Scottish Highlands two years ago. It had been run by locums for the previous two years and had no computer systems or practice manager.

Dr Brown said: 'When we arrived we focused on setting

up all the clinical services. We fell down last year because we neglected the admin side, but we have worked really hard this year to get things up to scratch.'

Dr Brown admitted there was an extra reason in her drive to get more QOF points: 'My husband works in the rival practice

next door, which did very well

last time.

'I thought it was time I put an end to his bragging at home.'
