At the heart of general practice since 1960

I always visited deaths

I was astonished to read your headline on March 15 'GPs face visit to all care home deaths'. I retired recently after nearly 40 years in practice and not once in all those years did I fail to visit when a patient had died, either in a care home or anywhere else.

I am sure my partners would have done likewise. In any case I do not think the management of the care homes would have accepted it, and often failure to visit would have upset the relatives of the dead patients.
