'I ignore Government CVD advice'

Dr Kathryn Griffiths refuses to be bound by Department of Health directions on how to treat patients with cardiovascular disease.

Dr Griffiths, a GP in York and secretary of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, insisted: 'For secondary prevention we should be treating to lower than the quality and outcomes framework because the level in the QOF is an audit standard, not a treatment target.'.
