I would quit over unfair pension deal

Dr Martyn Walling says he will retire as soon as possible if the Government is successful in its bid to downgrade GPs' pensions.

Dr Walling, who deferred retiring from last April because of the benefits of the new contract said: 'The thought of going on and paying more and more and getting less and less is not an attractive one.

'It's unfair, because they can't change the rules just because we've achieved the targets. It wouldn't be gentlemanly.'
