I'm knackered so you can count on my support

I am dismayed to read Dr John Godfrey praising the new contract (Letters, March 12) and boastingly announcing his income substantially rising to more than £100,000 this year.

Apart from being selfish and money motivated, it would have been nice if he had mentioned a word or two about many patients' pain and suffering while waiting for hospital admissions.

Has the contract brought any solace

to those unfortunate souls who still keep on waiting for their appointments for months and some even die before they receive one?
