Initially speaking, is sex just an Oopsi?

Abbreviations are all very well, but whoever invents them does have to imagine how the collection of initial letters might sound when spoken aloud.

When considering a patient for the morning-after Pill and communicating this back to us, whoever thought of 'UPSI' as an abbreviation for unprotected sexual intercourse obviously never spoke the resultant word aloud.

Having said that, it does sum up the problem neatly.
