iSOFT appointed national supplier for England
By Georgie Hobbs
iSOFT has become the sixth service provider to sign up to the GP Systems of Choice initiative.
Five other suppliers, including EMIS and InPractice, have already signed contracts with Connecting for Health, and GPs across England will eventually be allowed to choose from eight approved suppliers.
GPs who want to use a GP SoC provider can now choose to use a Local Service Provider or keep their existing system, which will be upgraded in line with the National Programme for IT requirements.
Paul Richards, iSOFT's UK and Ireland managing director, said: ‘With our hosted solution, PCTs can group their GP practices on the one server with individual databases, while having management-level access for clinical audit and performance management purposes.'
‘Our customers can now retain their Synergy and Premiere solutions with the assurance that they will be developed to national standards with guaranteed service levels. And, it enables other GPs to select iSOFT and iSOFT applications on merit and for sound business reasons.
