At the heart of general practice since 1960

It was like a bereavement – but now practice budgets are back

My premises have been cancelled by my PCT just as the developer is to move on to site. I have been in temporary accommodation for nine-and-a-half years. The whole thing stinks.

The development is for 20,000 patients (four practices and 10 GPs). It has been under negotiation for six years and phase one has already been built.

This area now has, I believe, the fewest number of GPs in England. The latest Department of Health figure is 63/100,000; after recent resignations (not retirements) we now have 42/100,000.

It really makes me question my own sanity at putting up with these conditions.
