'Judge the deal not us'? Well I have and it stinks

In your front-page story last week the negotiators invite us to 'judge the deal not us'. I have and it stinks. They have not achieved any of the 'deal breakers' to which they and conference committed them. Anyone who thinks they will make any more progress 'after a Yes vote' is living in the clouds.

It will do nothing to retain anyone (the only significant gains on seniority pay come after age 65) and, I suspect, little to encourage recruitment. It is spreadsheet medicine at its worst.

To suggest such a fiasco can be separated from those who engineered it is naive in the extreme.
