GPs buried under trusts' workload dump

Keep fighting to recoup our stolen pension payments

I welcome the granting of a judicial review on pensions and fully back the GPC in its moves to demonstrate that a contract is a contract and should be binding.

I retired in June 2006, and like the other 1,500-2,000 GPs who retired around then, I lost about £6,000 a year pension and an £18,000 lump sum. Essentially I have been defrauded out of the large superannuation contributions I made during my last five years in practice.

I have been bound by numerous pension regulations, but the Government feels free to move the goalposts retrospectively. But I am not allowed to change my retirement date retrospectively, am I?

Yes, I am angry. I want what I have paid for, and yes – I want some revenge. Please, GPC, don't give this up. There's a big principle at stake. Fight on and on.

From Dr David Johnson, Brecon, mid-Wales
