Legal aid blow to MMR uptake drive

All on-call providers should have their own drugs budgets, a Government review of the supply of medicines out-of-hours is to recommend.

The detailed guidance to be published next month will also include a national formulary of drugs that out-of-hours services should be able to provide.

Dr Alex Yeates, a member of the review group and a GP in Rochester, Kent, said: 'It's daft that a doctor who has no responsibility for a patient out-of-hours should pick up the drugs bill.'
