Where?

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park designated as such in 1952 for its impressive geology is Britain's only truly coastal national park, situated on Wales' spectacular south-western shore.

Scenery?

The Presili hills in the north were thought to be the source of rocks at Stonehenge carried to Somerset by giant sea ice sheets.

Work?

There are 26 GP practices under Pembrokeshire local health board

Homes?

A detached five-bedroom Mediterranean-style house at the entrance to the Marina at Neyland, Milford Haven, with clear views over the water, for £595,000.

Schools?

Education league tables have been scrapped for secondary schools in Wales. There are 73 primary schools and eight secondary schools run by Pembrokeshire County Council. Lessons are taught in English, Welsh or both.

Leisure?

Do the Pembrokeshire coast path a spectacular 299km trail covering some of the most varied coastal scenery in Britain. Visit the tiny historic cathedral city of St David's.

Famous connections?

Many fine Welsh-language poets and the novelists Dick Francis and Richard Llewellyn.

News?

An ancient well with healing powers has been made more accessible for the elderly and disabled by an upgraded path from St David's to St Non's Chapel, the birthplace of St David, the patron saint of Wales. The well and chapel date back to his birth around AD 500.
