At the heart of general practice since 1960

Let's practise in...Skegness

Where? Part of coastal east Lincolnshire, 23 miles north-East of Boston via the A52.

And? One of England's most popular seaside resorts, the area is hailed as the Fun Coast and amusements line the sands along the six-mile stretch. Skegness is also the site

of the first Butlins holiday village.

Work? There are five surgeries in Skegness, which falls under East Lincolnshire PCT. The largest is the Beacon Medical Practice, with three branches throughout the PCT.

Homes? 'A well-presented detached house with three bedrooms, convenient for the town centre and local amenities' for £137,500.

Schools? There are relatively few schools in the area, though the ones there are perform well by national standards. The Skegness Grammar School and The Giles School are the best achievers locally.

Leisure? Lots of traditional seaside activities centred on the pier, which was built in 1881. The Natureland Seal Sanctury is good fun too.

Famous residents? Not heaving with celebrities although apparently it's popular with the Emmerdale cast.
