LMC go-ahead to warn GPs of violent neo-Nazi

An LMC has set a legal precedent after it was given the go-ahead to circulate details to local practices of a neo-Nazi who attacked a Jewish GP.

Manchester LMC sought legal advice but has been assured the move is legal under the Crime and Disorder Act.

LMC secretary Dr Peter Fink said the warning was necessary to protect the wellbeing of GPs and their staff.

The patient, who is not registered with any GP in the area, attempted to strangle Dr Nicholas Vites earlier this year, and threatened to kill his family.

Dr Fink said: 'The individual who attacked Dr Vites was not registered with him, meaning any GP he may be registered with in future would not know they have a violent person on their books.

'We are not banning the patient from healthcare, but simply warning GPs.'
