I went on a home visit 31 December 2009, just after closing up the surgery in the evening, and got snowed in at the destination, and arrived home on the Sunday evening, 3 January 2010. Is that a good one? David Church

I have learnt from a van driver to carry 2 door mats in the car... just pop them under the wheels when ever the car is stuck.... simples! amita singh

...and we all get those requests for home visits 'because our road is impassable and we can't get the car out.'

At least you were in a nice comfy car not standing outside for 3 and half hours in the blizzard waiting for non-existent public transport... to travel 10 miles :o( pct admin

I actually felt guilty that I got home from the surgery last night since so many people had been stuck since the morning on the motorway. The inside information on the best route home came from the patient who had driven his snowplow gritter to his appointment! Duncan Lamont
