Dear Dr Kolipara, I totally agree with your sentiments. This article has already been used to back up one member of the public's assertion that 'private healthcare must be better because so many doctors go private' - it sends out completely the wroong message and of all the perks to choose - the GMC - its crazy! what's wrong with a car or an extra week of annual leave or extra pension or any number of possible perks. We all pay for the GMC to be our regulatory body, and revalidation excepted, it does a pretty good job. Is there some way that us members can have a say in this? It would be great if they consulted us all and got us to vote like they do when electing the council. Thanks for drawing this to our attention.
