Maximising CHD quality point score

GPs in Leicestershire are being given new software that helps them to maximise their points score for CHD in the quality and outcomes framework.

The program flags up which patients should be targeted to best increase points scores and generates recall

letters.

The Quality and Outcomes Points Estimator was developed by Leicester GP Dr David Shepherd for the Leicestershire Primary Care Audit Group.

Stephen Ashmore, audit group manager, said practices may be able to use the system to check what score they had got on the PCT's system. 'GPs will want to know which patients are worth most points to them,' he said.

'It will tell you which patients are missing indicators and a score, allowing you to prioritise your patients and bring in those who will increase points.'
