Ministers must not overreact over Shipman

Copy of letter to GPC deputy-chair Dr Laurence Buckman

I can't get Eastbourne PCT to cough up for a week's PGE course-locum allowance. We always used to get a singlehander's locum allowance for courses of a week or more duration.

You reassured us at Wellshurst golf club a year ago on the matter, before we voted.

They won't give backing for locum cover for appraisals or Q&O meetings. And I'm waiting to hear from them concerning sickness locum allowance previously paid after a week or more off ill.

It seems to me I've been stuffed and shafted. How can I get away from the practice to be: educated; appraised; Q&O'd and healed?

Dr Richard Adcock
