MPIG phase-out may finally expose real funding inequalities

Thanks for your article on the MPIG ('DH set to accelerate phase-out of MPIG'). Maybe the underlying problem will get some attention.

The cynical diversion of NHS funds behind the fig leaf of Carr-Hill to mainly marginal and Labour areas should have caused far more outcry. It is scandalous how those who actually pay for the NHS have less access to it.

I understand that the details of NHS funding don't make for good journalism. But I am amazed at how the politicised and bankrupt notion of throwing money at health and social problems remains unchallenged.
