My six-day desert hell
Dr Jo Chambers has put herself forward for one of the most gruelling races on earth.
In a year's time, she will brave 120° temperatures, scorpions, snakes and extreme dehydration to run the equivalent of six marathons in six days across the Sahara desert.
Dr Chambers, an Army GP in Surrey, has entered the 151-mile Marathon Des Sables to try to raise £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Relief. She said: 'My parents think I'm crazy.'
