At the heart of general practice since 1960

'My workload has doubled but my salary has not'

I'm writing with reference to Dr Ruth Chapman's article about salaried GPs. I would like to confirm that as a salaried GP, I have felt exploited for some time, perhaps encouraged by other salaried GPs who have left my practice for this reason.

The partners in my practice must take home nearly twice as much pay as I do, but expect me to do the same amount of work. My workload has nearly doubled since I started here six years ago, but pay has not.

I have just been subjected to disciplinary procedures largely because of effects I may have had on practice profits.

Are there any salaried GPs out there who have sued for exploitation yet?!
