National NHS bodies escape 0870 ban

GPs do not want the GMC to hand over control of the evidence required for revalidation to the RCGP.

More than three GPs in five said the college should not collect the information for revalidation folders.

Support for the GMC increased in older age groups.

Almost 90 per cent of the 65-and-over group would prefer the GMC to retain control over evidence, in stark contrast to just 36 per cent of 25- to 34-year-olds.

The RCGP has already constructed a portfolio of evidence that could be used in revalidation.
