New warning to GPs over rosuvastatin in Asian patients

Dr Greg Tanner is piloting a £750,000 scheme to help practices identify patients at high risk

of familial cancer.

Under the Department of Health scheme, GPs will be able to refer patients to three specially trained nurses based within the PCT, who will assess and counsel patients.

Dr Tanner, a GP in Bridgwater, Somerset, said the scheme would also explore how else practices could identify high-risk patients.
