Pulse named top business magazine for second year running

Pulse magazine has been crowned Business Magazine of the Year for the second year running at the PPA Independent Publisher awards.

The major industry awards took place on Wednesday and judges praised Pulse for its ‘strong design, excellent editorial, brave commentary pieces, and true diversity’.

Pulse beat off competition from shortlisted rivals including The Drum, Briefing Magazine, Accounting Technician, InvestmentEurope, Professional Manager and the CA.

The judges said: ‘Pulse has really delivered in its core markets, with readership growing all the time, and very impressive growth in the title’s digital reach.’

They added: ‘A worthy winner of the Business Magazine of the Year Award for 2015.’

This is the second year in a row that Pulse has won this prestigious award, with judges at the last year’s ceremony congratulating Pulse’s clear understanding of, and strong connection with, its audience, exemplified in its strong editorial campaigns and impressive commercial figures’.

Pulse magazine was also shortlisted for the 2015 PPA award for Front Cover of the Year (Business Media) and Digital Innovation of the Year.

It comes as Pulse editor Nigel Praities was named Editor of the Year at the British Society of Magazine Editors awards last month.
