Ebola virus ‘is mutating’, English over 70s have sex and A&E row rumbles on

The ebola virus is mutating, warn French scientists studying blood samples from across the outbreak in West Africa. The greatest fear was it mutating to become airborne but this is unlikely, BBC News reports.

Half of English men over 70 are ‘still having sex’, according to the first study of its kind. The University of Manchester said 54% of men over 70 and 31% of women were still sexually active. A third of them were having sex frequently, the Telegraph writes.

A political row has broken out as health secretary Jeremy Hunt is accused of changing the rules on hospitals declaring major incidents in the midst of an A&E crisis. According to the political opposition the rule change is aimed at making it harder for hospitals to sound the alarm and call on more resources, the Mirror writes.
