Who are your most inspirational GPs? Nominate them for Pulse’s Power 50

It’s that time of year again when Pulse starts preparing its list of the most influential GPs in the UK. And we need your help.

Each year we invite our readers to nominate the GPs who they believe has the most influence on general practice, nationally and locally, and the future leaders of the profession. Whether it be someone who is able to influence Government strategy, provide a voice on behalf of the profession or has done great things for general practice and patients locally, we want your nominations.

You can nominate as many GPs as you like.

We look at all the information from you to decide our final list of names, so get nominating and let us know why your nominated GPs deserve wider recognition.Who are the most inspirational GPs? Nominate them for Pulse’s Power 50

  • I AM NOT GOING TO EVEN LOOK AT THE NAMES BECAUSE MY MOST INSPIRATIONAL GPs ARE THE "REAL" GPs WHO ACTUALLY SEE REAL PATIENTS RATHER THAN THE 2 SESSION "EXPERTS" WHO SPEND THEIR LIVES ADVISING EVERYBODY ELSE ON WHAT HARD WORK LOOKS LIKE.

YOU KNOW THE ONES WHO DON'T GET A "GONG" OR SOME OTHER HONOUR OR WORK IN A SHIELDED ENVIRONMENT "SAFE" FROM EVER ACTUALLY SEEING PATIENTS.

NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE IN THIS SAD AND MORALLY CORRUPT COUNTRY WITH A THIN VENEER OF DEMOCRACY BUT I ALWAYS HOLD OUT IRRATIONAL HOPE.

Am sorry to say some of the most inspirational GPs I know have taken their talents elsewhere and aren’t GPs anymore (at least not in this country). It’s hard to find inspiration amongst a group who have collectively failed so spectacularly in maintaining the integrity of their profession. The ones in positions of authority are almost by definition people who most certainly deserve little in the way of awards. But I’ve no doubt they will be given them anyway, who else is there to give the gongs to these days?

  • I suggest that pulse does not do this again this year because the real heroes as stated above are the countless doctors who selflessly give their all to their patients without looking for publicity or awards, the most inspirational gps are the ones seeing patients daily and not sitting on college committees, government quangos, Medico politicians etc......
My nomination would be to reward Gp with better terms and conditions rather than pluck out 50 people who make the headlines for other reasons, I would also suggest that HMG should reward low profile hard working doctors with
Gongs rather than the perceived top people

  • My serum lithium level has just come back at 0.20mmol/L.

I vote for IDGAF; despite a recent reduced need for sleep, boundless energy, some financial indiscretions and an overwhelming love for his fellow man he has been a massive inspiration for me. I admire his cynicism and his scathing disregard for what other people think of him. Although he has needed to take a little time off from work with some depersonalisation issues I have no hesitation in proposing him for this marvellous accolade.

  • The ones that inspire me are those who have taken retirement and have never looked back.

  • The most inspirational GP is the one that just does the job, avoids the NHS muppetry, and isn't one of the greasy poleclimbers that populate this stupid competition for "who has the most sycophants I can corall" year in year out. Pulse, please STOP.
