Pulse news team wins prestigious award

Pulse’s news team last night won a prestigious award, beating off competition from other trade magazines.

The team won ‘Business team of the year’ at the BSME Rising Stars awards, which seeks to honour journalists below editor level.

The judges said: ’They get big, important stories, which are well-balanced and cut through to the mainstream.’

Pulse’s award entry emphasised our investigative journalism, and leading the health news agenda with such stories as patients being given money to buy holiday homes through the personal health budgets scheme, GPs being given incentives for cutting down the number of urgent cancer referrals and our continued scrutiny of the Government’s seven-day drive.

This is the latest in a string of awards for Pulse, after being crowned Business Magazine of the Year for two years running at the PPA Independent Publisher awards, while editor Nigel Praities was named Editor of the Year at the British Society of Magazine Editors awards .
